Taking Care of Your Magnetic Knife Board

These magnetic knife boards are probably one of the easiest to maintain. More so, as they are mostly used for kitchen knife storage and quick & easy access. They don’t have the same use as a chopping or serving board. Even so, they will require some cleaning.

First, clean the board surface with warm water and a soft washcloth or sponge as needed. When you remove a knife from the board for use, make sure you return it to the board clean & dry. It’s important the knife board surface is kept dry. This will help avoid any water stains from marking the board.

To maintain the wood finish avoid cleaning the surface with detergents or rough scouring pads. Also, avoid placing any wooden items especially magnetic knife boards in a dishwasher as this will cause permanent damage.

I also suggest using our high-quality food-safe wood oil product for the preservation & protection of the board. The oil protects and nourishes the hardwood, and I suggest you oil the hardwood item when you find the surface is starting to feel dry. The application of the food-safe wood oil will depend according to the use of the item and the dryness of the surface.
