Our magnetic knife boards make it much easier to access, store & display your kitchen knives. Each board has a unique one-of-a-kind wood grain pattern and all of our items are made from locally sourced Australian hardwoods and contain hidden magnets that hold your knives in place. Beautiful, durable, and functional!

The “Leaning” magnetic board offers a modern, contemporary & minimalist design. A stand-alone piece you can move or place on any counter or tabletop. Perfect for home or commercial use and a more hygienic way to display your knives.

Our boards have multiple coats of food-safe wood oil applied to nourish and protect the hardwood surface.

Selecting the board size:

To calculate the width of the magnetic knife board:

1. Lay your knives out on a flat surface.
2. Place a 1cm gap between each knife blade.
3. Measure across the laid-out knives from the widest point of the blades. (Usually just under where the handle meets the blade).
4. Add an extra centimetre to your measurement. This will provide you with the overall board width needed.

To calculate the height of the magnetic knife board:

1. Choose the longest knife.
2. Measure from the tip of the metal blade to where the handle starts on the blade.
3. This will provide the overall height needed for your board

 

Our process – Ordering a magnetic knife board

Each board is made to order and once you proceed with a purchase we provide you with a range of different Australian hardwood options to choose from. On average, once you have selected the hardwood it can take 2 to 4 weeks to complete the piece. During the process of making the item we keep you updated with ongoing progress images.

How To Maintain Your Magnetic Knife Board

These boards are probably one of the easiest items to maintain, given they are used mostly to store and access your clean knives. For the best results and to prolong the life of the wood, clean the surface with warm water and a soft washcloth or sponge as needed. Prior to returning a knife to the board also make sure the knife is clean and dry.

We also suggest using food-safe wood oil that helps maintain & nourish the wood. We offer a high-quality food-safe wood oil product specific to the preservation & protection of wooden items. Perfect for protecting wooden bowls & spoons, chopping boards or butchers blocks, large or long wooden grazing or serving boards, wooden utensils, and wooden magnetic knife boards.

To apply a food-safe wood oil firstly ensure the wood is clean, dry, and free from any contaminants to avoid scratching. Carefully open the provided bottle and pour/apply the Wood Oil directly to the wood surface and spread evenly using a soft, lint-free cloth. Take care to ensure all areas are covered before allowing them to soak into the wood for approximately 30 minutes to one hour. After this time, simply wipe away any remaining surface oils before the item is ready to be stored or used again.

Avoid cleaning the wooden surface with any detergents or rough scouring pads. Also, avoid placing any wooden items into a dishwasher as this will remove any protective coating and could cause serious damage.
